RemoteHams HF Remote is online

Fellow Club Members,

Our new RemoteHams HF Remote is online and available for active club members.

The new remote is a Kenwood TS-570D that will do 160m through 10m, all modes, and 100 watts with a built-in antenna tuner.  Antenna 1 is fed by a delta loop, one of the old remote antennas.  Antenna 2 is on a dummy load until we can repair one of the other remote antennas.

Please note that the new remote radio is not on backup power like the old remote, but the PC is, so for now, if the power goes out, the radio will go down. However, you will still see the remote available on remotehams.  We will be adding a battery backup to the remote radio soon.

The new remote is being run in “club” mode. You cannot request TX until you request club access and it has been granted. You can request club access via the pop-up when logging into the remote. We will then verify your club membership status and grant you permission.

The old user database could not be transferred over, so we must re-verify all active club members wishing access.

If you used to have access and are not an active club member, please renew your membership via https://www.n6ij.org to gain access again.

For now, Jeff KG6UYZ will be granting access to the remote until the remote PC has remote access capabilities by other administrators of the remote. Once those remote access capabilities are established on the new remote PC, then George W3AB and Jeff KG6UYZ will administer the remote.

Thank you for being so patient.
